The Ocean Lakes High School Class of 1999 held their 10-year reunion on October 2-3, 2009. 53 tickets were officially sold, but far more showed up to join in on the festivities!
We gathered at the high school on Friday night, receiving a tour of the school before the game started, which the alum absolutely loved. The school has changed a lot since we graduated- no more carpet, much more color, and a new wing has been built on!
We then cheered on the football team (led by head coach, Chris Scott- a class of '98 alum!) to a successful victory over First Colonial High- go dolphins!!!
Post-game, we met up at Keagan's, where the back patio was reserved for alum. However, so many alum showed up, that spilled into the main restaurant too! What a great gathering of '99 folks!!
The next day, we hosted a picnic on Dam Neck beach and invited alum to bring their families. The weather cooperated and gave us a warm, sunny day to grill out, enjoy the sand, and catch up with each other. People had such a great time the night before, that an unofficial reunion "round 2" formed for Saturday night!
All in all, it was a successful ten year reunion for the OLHS class of 1999!
Thanks to all who came out!
